Baby Elvis and his amazing jumpsuit
My mom made Jack a lil' Elvis costume for halloween. I helped but she did the majority of the work. It turned out really cool and Jack got to wear it to the Itty Bitty halloween party this weekend. My favorite is his hair piece because it looks so ridiculous! Arthur, Grandma Brenda, and I all went as Elvis groupies with shirts we made.

Mmmmm....Cake
Jack got invited to his friend Walter's first birthday. It was pretty exciting and Jack got to check out Walter dig into birthday cake and ice cream. We keep telling Jack that his turn is coming in December. However, if the kid doesn't learn to like finger foods.... the cake may be a big let down when it doesn't reach his mouth.

Space-themed birthday for Jack
I've already been thinking about the theme for Jack's first birthday party. At first Arthur and I were going to choose a country or an animal and have that be the central theme for the party but then we decided a space-themed party would be super cool. This old picture from mission control at NASA is going on the front of Jack's invitations. They will read: "After intense scrutiny Mission Control has deemed Jack's first year a complete success. Please join us for a fun filled, space themed celebration honoring Jack's first birthday".
I found a blog that shows how to make cool rocket decorations from paper towel rolls and foil. We have also decided that punch is out for this party and Tang is in! Arthur is working on a recipe for Tang-tinis for the adults.

Great bags for gettin' lots of halloween candy
Grandma Brenda and Grammy Jane made Jack cool bags for collecting halloween candy. Grandma Brenda's bag matches Jack's halloween bib and Grammy Jane embroidered a black bag with a ghost and pumpkin on it. It also has his name so people will keep hands off of Jack's candy. Can't wait to test it out when we go trick-o-treating!

Wild Wheels at the Zoo
Jack went with some friends from the Pearland Itty Bitty Group to Houston's zoo for Wild Wheels. It is a program at the zoo for little ones that has a tour guide and a theme for the week. This week the theme was Continents. We learned about animals from South America. Jack even got to pet a real turtle.
