Ballunar Liftoff Festival

We met some friends at Johnson Space Center for the annual Ballunar Liftoff Festival. We got to see some cool skydiving exhibitions, RC helicopter tricks, model rockets blast off, and the evening's balloon glow. I was really impressive to see so many hot air balloons up close.

Table Rock Lake, MO

Jack and I took a vacation to Table Rock Lake in Missouri with Grandpa and Grandma. We stayed in cabins on the lake at Grandpa's favorite fishing spot. On the drive up to the lake we also stoppped for gas at the famous Buffalo Ranch which is right outside Afton, OK. Jack got to see real, live buffalo!
At Table Rock grandpa showed Jack the finer art of perch fishing. Jack was mostly impressed with the worms we used for bait. He also liked throwing the perch back in the water. Actually, he enjoyed throwing anything he could get his hands on into the water.
We drove into Branson one evening for dinner and Jack got to check out the go cart track with Grandpa. He LOVED it! Grandpa said Jack kept screaming and giggling the whole time.

Jack's play date

Jack had some friends over for a play date. We tried to make it festive by serving "mummy" hot dogs, spooky deviled eggs, and ghost cookies. It was a lot of fun.

Pearland's Flashlight Candy Hunt!

We took Jack to Pearland's first annual Flashlight Candy Hunt at the Community Center. Jack got to make a nifty trick-o-treat bag and enter a costume contest. They had fun decorations to pose with for pictures and lots of cookies and punch. Best of all was the actual flashlight candy hunt. Jack and Arthur did some serious treat hunting in the dark of the community center gym. Arthur held the flashlight while Jack held his goody bag in his teeth and grabbed candy with his hands. Quite a system.
