Birch Lake and Grandpa's boat

These are pictures from our picnic at Birch lake in Barnsdall, OK. It was Jack's first ride on Grandpa George's bass boat. He had fun helping drive and picking out some good plastic worms for Grandpa to fish with. The weather was so nice but the water was ice cold!

Grandparent time

While in Oklahoma we've been getting a lot of grandparent time in. Jack and I are staying with Grandma Brenda and Grandpa George in Bartlesville. Grammie Jane and Papa who live in Ponca City also came over to hang out with Jack. Grammie and Papa brought Jack a fun, stuffed animal monkey. He's blue so we named him Easter Monkey and he makes a crazy monkey screech. Grandma Brenda and Grandpa George got Jack some cool croc clogs. They will come in handy at the Pearland splash park. Jack likes to have everyone read him books, and play outside. He also really likes to feed Grandpa George cheerios out of his snack cup.

Egg colorin' fool!

Jack really liked coloring eggs this year. After careful instruction he was dipping and rolling eggs like a pro. He was quite speedy and colored all his eggs in 5 minutes flat! Unfortunately he also colored his hands, forehead, and eyes in the process.

Exploring Grandma and Grandpa's front yard

While staying with Grandma Brenda and Grandpa George in Oklahoma Jack had a great time running around outside in the yard. He did a good job of staying on the sidewalk and not playing in the street. We've been working hard on that one. At Grandma and Grandpa's the redbud trees were blooming and so pretty. I would love to plant one in our backyard in Pearland!

Sidewalk Chalk

We tried out some sidewalk chalk on the backyard patio. The chalk was on sale and we got a crayola 20 count box for $1.50 at Walmart. Creating chalk art went pretty well but mostly Jack just liked to hold a chalk stick in each hand and watch me draw shapes. He also enjoyed chalking up my pants!

Pearland Egg Hunt

The Pearland Parks and Rec hosted the annual egg hunt at Centennial Park. The egg hunts were separated by age so Jack only had to compete for eggs with other 1 and 2 year olds. Aside from being super afraid of the man dressed up as the Easter bunny, Jack seemed to have a pretty fun time.

Reading in bed

We left a few books on the side of Jack's crib last night and this morning we found him investigating. I'm not sure how long he was up before I went into his room because he was so quiet... except for his dinosaur sound "Grrrrrrr".
