Jack went for his 1 year well exam today at Dr. Schafer's office. He is 30 1/2 inches long and a little over 21 pounds. The doctor described Jack as "tall and skinny". He said Jack is doing great and right on track!
Jack's vocabulary is pretty limited. He will say "Aay" when he drops something (usually on purpose). I'm sure it is his way of saying "Oh no". He calls Frank "Tay" and pretty much everything else is refered to as "Dough". It kinda sounds like Homer Simpson taught him talking 101! His best word is "Hiiiii" (said with a heavy southern drawl) which is usually accompanied by a wave. Although his verbal skills are limited we can tell that Jack understands basic things we tell or ask him. I can ask him to push a button and he will or I can tell him to put something inside a bowl/basket and he drops it in.
Jack is very, very ticklish. His sweet spots are around the neck and his lower back. I hear it is a form of torture to tickle but we can't resisit his intoxicating giggle.
Jack is just now warming up to solid food but he really likes green peas. He'll even eat them cold. He likes his breakfast oatmeal with prunes or apples mixed in and will only mash banana slices with his finger. They are apparently in NO way ment to be eaten!
Jack just started walking and it is hilarious to watch him stomp around. He is still a little unsteady but getting there. He was late to sit up but then everything just came fast. He didn't crawl til almost 10months but was taking his first step by late in 11month. He will smile and laugh as he is walking like he is performing physical comedy. It must feel strange coming from crawling on the ground everywhere.
He is a really happy guy and smiles a lot. His smiles are so awesome.
