We DIDN'T have to pet a turtle this time!!!

Jack and I met Walter and his mom at Wild Wheels today at the zoo. The letter of the day was "P". We got to visit the parrots, puma, piranhas, porcupines, and pelicans. After all that Leigh, our guide, brought out a plated lizard for us to pet. Finally we got to pet something other than a turtle at Wild Wheels!!

I keep trying!

Here is a picture of one of many well balanced lunches that I've prepared and Jack has refused. I believe he ate 5 cubes of cheese off this plate, wouldn't touch the corn dog, and threw the blackberries on the floor in one giant handful. Someday he'll eat fruits other than apples or banana and veggies I haven't disguised in spaghetti sauce or soup. Someday......

Playtime with dad

It was an action packed evening in our front yard this evening. Jack will sleep great tonight!

My chipped tooth

I took an amazing head first dive off the side of the couch and all I got was this stinkin' chipped tooth (for a closer inspection just click on the photo)! Dr. Watkins, the dentist, says he can fix it when I turn 3. For now I just look like a little tough guy.

Jack's make-shift desk

I transformed an old end table in our garage into a great coloring desk for Jack. Finally, something just his size.

Crawfish Party at NASA

Arthur's work held its annual crawfish boil. Jack was excited to have hot dogs and cookies for dinner. We thought he may need to wait a couple years to test out the crawfish. They also had a prize drawing and I won us a cool NASA mug.

Wild Wheels at the Zoo

Jack and I went to Wild Wheels this morning at the zoo. Leigh was our zoo tour guide and she chose the letter of the day, "O". We got to visit the Otter, Orangutans, Okapi, Octopus (on loan from the Dallas zoo), and meet a turtle named Other. Jack really liked checking out the sharp teeth on the otter skull. He kept snapping it shut with his finger.

Jack's Playdate

Jack hosted a playdate and lots of his Itty Bitty friends came over to the house. Jack's friend, Grace, showed him where his belly button or "bebo" was and also she showed Luke how to tickle. We played with crayolas on a paper-covered coffee table and watched a couple cartoons. It was a pretty fun afternoon.

Cooling Off

Girls Gone Wild

This weekend was my annual ladies weekend. I got to spend time with two of my oldest and closest friends who I have known since early elementary school. One flew in from Kansas City and the other lives here in Houston. Meanwhile, Jack got to hang with dad all weekend. Jack and Arthur went to a birthday party, played at the park, took a couple bike rides, ransacked the Target toy department, and had party-time lunches at Lenny's Sub Shop consisting of only Cheetos, Hi-C, and cookies. I'm not sure if it was me or Jack that had the wilder weekend. We both look a little worn out!

Bye-bye Bartlesville

Jack played a little in the backyard before leaving for the airport and home to Houston. We had lots of fun in Bartlesville and can't wait to come back for another visit!

What's in my Easter basket (bucket)!!

Jack wasn't sure what this whole Easter basket thing was about. We told him he could check out all the goodies the Easter Bunny left for him but he seemed a little leery so I helped show him what was in the Easter bucket. Jack got crayons, a coloring book, markers, marshmallow bunnies, play-dough, books, and fun striped plastic eggs. Hopefully that was enough to show Jack that this mysterious Easter Bunny is a pretty good fella.
