Nobody puts baby in a shopping bag!

Arthur invented a hilarious game for Jack using our grocery bags. It could be worse. The last "game" Arthur invented for Jack involved tossing the baby into a pile of pillows!

Did you get your tickets to the gun show?

I thought Jack looked kinda tough in his Thomas the Train muscle shirt so I snapped a few pictures.

Happppy Father's Day!!

For Father's Day Jack gave Arthur a card, magnet, and colored him a great "I Love Dad" picture. As you can see in the photo Jack decided that the "I Love Dad" picture didn't quite have enough flare so he added some Thomas the Train stickers. It was a little avant garde but that's Jack's style.

Skinny Dippin'

With the heat index its been over 100 degrees in Pearland which makes for great backyard skinny dipping weather! We fill up Jack's "pool" and then I tell him the water in the hose is all gone. When I turn off the water he says "bye, bye water".

Tumblebuds

Jack started Tumblebuds this morning. It is a tumbling class offered for toddlers through Pearland Parks and Rec. Some of Jack's friends from his playgroup were in the class too. Afterward, we went to The Pear Tree and had an early lunch. Jack, Carli, and Gabriel had fun running around the restaurant when lunch was over. Oh, and yes that IS a picture of Jack kissing Carli. He got her a couple times today!

Mom and dad's bed

Jack has discovered that he can climb onto our bed using Frank's (the dog) step stool. Now we have to make sure the door to our room is closed when we are not in there. Is nothing sacred!

Pool time with the Harts

We met my friend, Sarah, and her kids at the pool across the street from their house in Sienna Plantation for our weekly Monday playdate. It was the first time Jack has really been able to stand up and play on his own in a baby pool. He is finally tall enough to touch. He thought it was so awesome to run in the water and he also got to practice jumping too. It is a great pool for little ones.

Bartlesville Public Library's Storytime

Bartlesville's public library offers a kids summer reading program so Grandma Brenda and I took Jack to the Children's Storytime. They had a neat reading room for the kids with big carpeted steps. The story time was structured a lot like Book Babies in Clear Lake. The librarian read from books that Jack was familiar with like the Spot series and lead us in a lots of fun songs. I like that she chose books with fun pictures and not too wordy. Those keep Jack's attention much better.

Bartlesville Kiddie Park

While visiting Grandma Brenda and Grandpa George in Bartlesville we took Jack to Kiddie Park. It is an amusement park just for little kids and Jack had a blast! We were told that prices haven't changed much since the parks inception. Each ride cost 1 ticket (tickets $1 each) and if I rode with Jack he was free. Jack's very favorite attraction was the car ride. He got to drive a tiny car all by himself. It was so funny to see how excited and focused he was steering the car that was attached to a bar and moving in a circle! He was also excited to sound a little "whoooo whoooo" on the train ride.

Grammie and Papa's

We had a fun visit in Ponca City. Grammie and Papa took us skiing on Ponca Lake and Jack got to help drive the boat. He also mastered the boat's horn. Jack got to test out the knee board and really liked setting on Grammie Jane's lap in the boat while Arthur, Papa, and I water skied. We even had a fun cook out on Grammie and Papa's dock. Jack really liked his hamburger and even tried some raw carrots! Jack visited the duck pond near the lake and we hiked through some of the nature trails along the spill way. The geese at the duck pond were not that interested in our bread. They seem much pickier than ducks when it comes to free food. We are looking forward to our return trip in August when cousin Ellen, aunt Emily, and uncle Brad will be there too!

Grammie Jane unveiled Arthur's T-shirt quilt and it turned out awesome. It is a great way to keep and remember lots of Arthur's favorite bmx shirts and pictures.

Egg Noodles

I asked my mom (Grandma Brenda) to teach me how to make her homemade egg noodles. It was surprisingly a lot easier than I had expected. Jack was not impressed and decided to watch cartoons instead.
Homemade Egg Noodles
2 cups all purpose flour
3 egg yolks
1 egg
2 tsp salt
1/4 to 1/2 cup water
Measure flour in bowl and to center add egg yolks, whole egg, and salt. Mix with hands. Add water 1 T at a time. Knead for 10 min. Let rest for 10 min. Cut dough into 4 equal parts and roll each out (thin). Roll dough then cut into strips. Dry noodles on towel for 2hrs. Break into smaller pieces and boil for 12 to 15 min.
